Wait, There’s a Fall Allergy Season?

Those of you who are suffering from the breezes of recent days will need no reminder. You will be feeling the same fatigued, sneezing, itchy, watery-eyed struggles of spring. In the fall, the fatigue be confused with the natural drop in energy that comes with cooling, shortening days. If only this shift simply felt like the winds of change!

Fall allergy season can be more subtle and may be missed. There is a fall bloom of season-specific plants in Colorado, led predominantly by ragweed. Although short with the approaching cold weather, this pollen amount can be significant when coupled with the greater amount of time soon spent indoors, both at work and home. This is where the ā€œtotal loadā€ becomes important. This starts with outdoor irritants like pollens, smoke, dust and exhaust, combined with the indoor nuisances of mold, house dust and pet dander. Stack on this less considered (but often very significant) contributors of mercury amalgam fillings, prescription or over-the-counter medications, chemicals in the food supply, food allergies themselves or occupational exposures like paints, solvents, stains and cleaners, and this suddenly adds up!

But perhaps the largest predictor of how much someone suffers, is the amount of exposure that can be tolerated by each person, uniquely. Put simply, some of us can handle the burden better than others.

If you connect your issues being allergies, get a hold of them before they derail your energy. Give me a call today, Iā€™m here to help.
